TennesseeView Fellowships

$500 for Your Remote Sensing Project!

The TennesseeView Fellowships aim to provide support, encouragement, and resources to students in Tennessee who are interested in pursuing a career in geospatial data science and remote sensing. These fellowships also aim to increase the awareness of geospatial technology in STEM education and workforce development.

Eligibility: 

• Must be a current undergraduate, graduate, or post-baccalaureate student in a college or university in the state of Tennessee.
• Open to students from any discipline.
• Must have good academic standing.
• Working on a project that utilizes remote sensing and Earth observation. The project must be presented at a conference (e.g., TNGIC Annual Conference) before September 2024, and preference will be given to projects that have a positive impact on an identified organization, agency, or group.
• Must not have previously received the TNView fellowship.
• Financial need may be considered as a secondary criterion.

Application Checklist: 

• Full name.
• Undergraduate or graduate status.
• Department and university.
• Phone number and email address.
• Name of faculty advisor.
• A cover letter of no more than 2 pages that clearly identifies the problem, its significance, the planned approach, and a stakeholder (e.g. a state agency, a community organization, a school or university, etc.). 
• Your resume or CV.

Number of Awards:

• Graduate students: 3 fellowships available.
• Undergraduate students: 3 fellowships available.
